The "lost years" is a seven year period that began after the birth of Shakespeare's twins, where scholars have no records of Shakespeare at all. Shakespeare re-appeared in London as a playwright around 1592. 15 of Shakespeare's attributed plays had been publish up to 1597, when he purchased "New House" for his family. "New House" was the second largest house in Stratford at the time.Will and partners completed thier own theatere, The Globe, around 1599.
Shakespeare's early works included the histories of "Richard II", "Henry VI", and "Henry V", which are believe to be a dramatization of the origins of the Tudor Dynasty.
During this period, William also wrote many comedies:A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Merchant of Venice," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "Twelfth Night" just to name a few. Begining in the 1600's, William began his later tragedy works of "Hamlet,"King Lear,"Othello" and "Macbeth."
